Mayor, Represents District 2

Vinh Truong, serving Duarte’s 2nd District, is a Chinese American born on Saint Valentine’s day in Los Angeles. Vinh’s family migrated from Vietnam in the late '70s, settling in Duarte in 1985.

He is the youngest of eight children and attended Duarte schools K-12. Vinh is a licensed life and health agent, currently the CEO/President of CMT Insurance Agency. He is primarily responsible for establishing and implementing organizational goals, policies, and procedures while maintaining company expectations, bringing in new accounts, and implementing company structure and protocols. His role requires him to be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic planning.

Vinh is a devoted husband, father, son, brother, colleague, and friend who values honesty, integrity, loyalty, and family. He has held a seat on the Duarte Economic Development Commission, served as a board member of the Santa Anita Family YMCA, and in 2019, was appointed to participate in Duarte’s Financial Advisory Taskforce, which allowed him to learn the city’s financial budget and understand the value of economic growth within the community.

Vinh’s passions include biking with his five-year-old son, woodworking, golfing, and gardening. Yet, his professional passion includes helping his clients better themselves by working with them to plan ahead and assist in creating their family legacies.

Vinh takes great pride in having an active role within his community. Duarte has been his home for over 35 years, and he continues to be with his wife and son. His passion now extends as a public servant/District 2 council member. He is a team player and leader and looks forward to building a solid foundation and stable city for the next generation in Duarte.
