Toney Lewis
Councilmember, Represents District 7
Lewis, a life-long member of the Duarte community, first moved here during the early 70’s from Mississippi. A proud Duarte High School Falcon, Toney grew up attending all Duarte Schools including Maxwell Elementary and the former Northview Intermediate School. Professionally, Lewis served for over 27 years in multiple capacities as a member of the fire service. He is also a longtime volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the proud father of his 16-year old son Domenick and has three nieces that live in the neighborhood as well. Lewis admits he is new to politics and is excited to take on his first role as a councilmember. He is proud of his community’s diversity and looks forward to embracing it throughout his service. Some of his initial goals include increasing voter registration numbers citywide and hosting a community pancake breakfast in his District.
