Councilmember, Represents District 3

Jody is a proud residents of Duarte and parent to Isabel, who attends elementary school within Duarte Unified School District. Jody was born in a small town in southern Illinois and attended the University of Illinois before moving to Southern California in 2002. She decided to put down permanent roots in the San Gabriel Valley in 2013 and bought a house in Duarte shortly after, falling in love with its charm and the camaraderie with its residents.

As the first person in her family to attend college, Jody knows the importance of education and career development, and the support needed to achieve success. She hopes to build a village for the residents in our community to support the economic development of individuals and businesses, as well as grow Duarte's economy. She is dedicated to seeing Duarte thrive and hopes to champion initiatives that make that happen.

As the mother of a young daughter, Jody has a personal stake in supporting and ensuring the success of our great city, to support us now and for future generations. Her education, skill set, and professional experience will make this goal possible. She holds a Master of Science degree and is a business leader, project manager, and served as a Public Safety Commissioner. She is skilled at systematically tracking issues, analyzing data, increasing efficiency, and strategic thinking to improve results. She is also an active participant in the community and belongs to several community organizations that represent diverse populations.

Jody is humbled to be elected to City Council and is grateful for the faith bestowed upon her by the voters. She looks forward to serving Duarte and making the residents and her family proud.
