Scavenging Is Illegal

Removal of garbage and/or recyclables from solid waste containers is punishable by law. (DMC 6.09.020)

Report Scavenging Activity to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at (626) 285-7171.

Remember: If you see a scavenger, do not approach them! Get a description of the person and/or vehicle with license plate number and their direction of travel.
