Duarte City Council Appoints Toney Lewis to Fill District 7 Vacancy

At the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Duarte City Council on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 the Council voted and unanimously appointed Toney Lewis to fill the District 7 City Council vacancy. The position was left vacant after Jocelyn Nunez, elected in November of 2018, resigned in early April.

Gas Company to Upgrade Duarte Facility

The Gas Company will be upgrading their natural gas facility on Huntington Drive between Brycedale Avenue and 1553 Huntington Drive beginning June 10, 2019. Approximately 700 linear feet of pipe will be upgraded and the project is scheduled to take approximately six (6) weeks to complete. Contractor working hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Parking Fee Instituted at Duarte/City of Hope Gold Line Station

The City of Duarte will be enforcing restrictions on both legal and illegal fireworks usage for the Fourth of July, 2019 holiday. Fireworks may not be discharged on the day of July 4th or any other days leading up to the holiday since the passage of Measure F in November of 2018.
