Holiday Happenings in the City of Duarte

DUARTE, CA, December, 2018 – The City of Duarte invites community members to partake in a variety of fun-filled festivities to kick off their holiday season taking place during the month of December.  

Want to tell Santa what you want Christmas?  Drop your letter off at Santa’s Mailbox located in front of the Parks & Recreation Department counter in City Hall from November 26th to December 13th. Letters may be deposited Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm or mailed during that time to 1600 Huntington Drive, Duarte, CA 91010-2592. Please include your address and phone number. All letters will be forwarded to the North Pole and Santa will write back!

Teens and the community will enjoy a Winter Holiday Festival at the Duarte Teen Center, 1400 Buena Vista Street, on WednesdayDecember 12th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The event celebrates the annual observances of Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa!  There will be musical choirs; cultural presentations and a holiday play for entertainment.  For additional information, call the Duarte Teen Center at 626-303-0863.

Santa Claus is coming to Duarte and will visit both Beardslee and Royal Oaks Parks as he makes his way to the annual Holiday Party.  On Wednesday, December 19thSanta will hand out candy at Beardslee Park from 2:45-3:15 pm and again at Royal Oaks Park from 3:30-4:00 pm. 

Santa’s Holiday Party is scheduled for Wednesday, December 19th and will take place from 4:00-5:30 pm at the Duarte Community Center, 1600 Huntington Drive. This event is free and for children ages 5-12. Space is limited to the first 90 participants; therefore, an RSVP is required and can be made by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at (626) 357-7931. Guests will enjoy holiday games, special crafts, music, prizes, refreshments and quality time with Santa Claus!

 For one day only, pick up the phone, talk to Santa Claus and tell him what is on your wish list! On Thursday, December 20th children can call (626) 386-6804, the City’s annual Santa’s Hotline, from 3:00-5:00 pm.
