DUARTE, CA, February 25, 2018 – Duarte has had its share of emergencies in the last two years between mudflows and hillside fires affecting our neighborhoods. With the need for emergency preparedness at the forefront, Duarte Mayor John Fasana will present his assessment as well as his vision for our community at the annual State of the City on Saturday, March 3 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Duarte Performing Arts Center at 1401 Highland Avenue.
Entitled “Preparedness: The New Normal,” the event will begin with an informative Emergency Preparedness Fair featuring a free box lunch for all attendees, a variety of emergency vendors, the "Quakey Shakey House," and LA County Sheriff's and Fire Department trucks for the kids to climb on. Following the fair, the Mayor’s presentation will start at 1:30 pm examining the past year’s obstacles and accomplishments with an emphasis on preparing for what may lie ahead.
