DUARTE, Calif., September 11, 2017 – The Duarte Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Sheryl Lefmann as their new President and CEO. She will assume duties from retiring President/CEO Jim Kirschner on September 18, 2017. Sheryl has been a long-time community consultant and volunteer for various entities within the city of Duarte for 12 years, most recently as a planning commissioner and a board member for the Duarte Chamber.
“It is such an honor to have been selected for this role,” said Lefmann. “As a resident of Duarte, the San Gabriel Valley community has always been a part of my life. I am thrilled for the opportunity to build on the success of my predecessors, to work with a highly-engaged board and outstanding staff to support and strengthen a very proud, growing, business-friendly community.”

Sheryl resides with her husband, Norman, in Duarte. Her professional background includes decades of working for government entities and serving on boards and committees. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public/Business Administration.
Currently in its 97th year, the Chamber is poised for the future. Recently, the governing board was increased to bring even more diversity in business representation. In addition, the Chamber moved to new an office and is working to enhance and expand services to members by utilizing new technologies.
The Duarte Chamber of Commerce a staple in the city exists to promote and encourage businesses to succeed while enhancing the Chamber’s relationship with the surrounding community.
