DUARTE CA, MAY 8, 2017- Liz Reilly, Duarte Councilmember since 2011, was recently appointed to the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountain Conservancy (RMC) by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. This position does not require Senate confirmation nor is there compensation. Since joining the Council, Reilly has served as Mayor in 2013, been a member of the San Gabriel National Monument Community Collaborative, Vice-Chair of the San Gabriel Council of Governments Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee, and a member of the Foothill Gold Line Joint Powers Authority Board. Professionally, Reilly is a registered dietitian and has served as a resource specialist program instructional aide for the Duarte Unified School District since 1992.
Reilly considers it an honor to have been selected to the RMC and appreciates the opportunity to represent both the Duarte City Council and the Duarte community in this endeavor. As part of the Conservancy, Liz wants to create an environment that attracts new recreational opportunities, supports existing infrastructure, and contributes new physical options to suburban communities along the two rivers.
Liz has always felt that the business of a City Council member is to be involved in all aspects of the city, and she says, “I intend to do just that.”
