Applications to the new school have been flooding in since becoming available in October, and spots are filling up quickly. The school will serve students in grades 7-11 next year and expand to grades 7-12 by 2018-19. Students interested in attending CSArts-SGV are encouraged to apply now while space is still available. The online application can be found at http://sgv.csarts.net/.

To provide prospective families with a general overview of the school’s academic and arts programs, DUSD and CSArts-SGV will be hosting a final Preview Day on Saturday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m. – Noon at the Performing Arts Center located at 1401 Highland Avenue, Duarte 91010.

Dr. Ralph Opacic, CSArts-SGV Chief Executive Officer, and other members of the school’s administration along with DUSD Superintendent, Dr. Allan Mucerino, and district administration will be present. Student applicants and their families will also have the opportunity to meet with arts conservatory faculty advisors.

The partnership developed between DUSD and OCSA is the first of its kind between a charter and public school district with measures taken by the district to ensure the students of Duarte Unified and community of Duarte benefit from the venture.

“It is the culmination of a year of discussions both within our school board, and between our administration and the OCSA leadership,” said Dr. Allan Mucerino, Superintendent of DUSD.
