A public scoping meeting has been set for Monday, March 25 to discuss and begin the public review process on revised plans for Duarte's Station Specific Plan adjacent to the Gold Line station. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Duarte Community Center, 1600 Huntington Dr.

The City of Duarte is proud to sponsor a free community screening of the film “Crows of the Desert – A Hero’s Journey through the Armenian Genocide,”at the Duarte Performing Arts Center (PAC), 1401 Highland Ave., Duarte on April 4that 6:00 pm. The event coincides with the City’s recognition of Armenian History Month and will also feature rare photographs and rediscovered archives documenting both the terror and heroism of the period on display in the Center’s lobby.

DEPUTY PROBATION OFFICER RAY ABERNATHY AWARDED 2019 COMMUNITY HERO AWARD BY REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE- SAN GABRIEL VALLEY

The San Gabriel Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce presented longtime Juvenile Probation Officer, Deputy Raymond Abernathy with its prestigious “Community Hero Award” at its annual awards breakfast on February 21st. Abernathy has worked for the LA County Probation Department for nearly 18 years and has also been an integral part of the Duarte Public Safety Office for the past five years. "It is easier to build strong children, then to repair broken men," said Abernathy as he received his award.
