Duarte Seeks 18 Volunteers to Fill City Commissions Starting October 2nd

The City of Duarte will begin accepting applications beginning October 2nd to fill 18 positions on its six City Commissions. Duarte citizens interested in serving on a commission will have until November 30, 2017 to apply.

DUARTE RED RIBBON WEEK KICKS OFF OCTOBER 21st WITH A MARCH AGAINST DRUGS AND A PARENT UNIVERSITY

DUARTE, CA, October 3, 2017 – Tie a red ribbon around our Huntington Drive trees in celebration of RedRibbon Week on October 21st starting at 9:00 am at the Duarte Teen Center, 1400 Buena Vista Street and join the rest of the Duarte community in taking a stand against drugs. The event, courtesy of a Duarte Public Safety crime prevention grant and several community sponsors, will feature free t-shirts, lunch, a pumpkin patch, and arts and crafts while supplies last. The 2017 theme is “Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free!”.

Duarte Marks its 60-Year History with A Series of “Route 66” Stencils along Huntington Drive

To celebrate both its 60 years of incorporation and connection to the famous U.S. Highway, the Duarte City Council, the Duarte Historical Society and local State officials Anthony Portantino and Blanca Rubio will dedicate one of several Route 66 logos recently stenciled onto the famous road during a brief ceremony at 9:15 am in front of the City’s Plaza located at 1553 Huntington Drive.

Las Lomas Rd. @ Huntington Dr. Construction Project Commences September 5 for 8 Weeks

International Line Builders (ILB) has been contracted by Southern California Edison to install an underground power facility on Las Lomas just north of Huntington Dr. ILB is scheduled to start work on September 5, 2017 with an estimated completion schedule of 8 weeks.
