ROYAL OAKS DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Duarte City Hall, 1600 Huntington Drive, California 91010 until February 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at Duarte City Hall, 1600 Huntington Drive, California 91010 at 10:05 AM on February 13, 2018. No bid shall be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City of Duarte and is in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 2015 Edition, and all supplements thereto. The successful Contractor and his/her subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City of Duarte.
Construction shall start June 15, 2018 and be completed within 65 working days of the effective date the City releases the Construction Notice to Proceed. Procurement of traffic signal poles, traffic signal cabinets, traffic signal controllers, traffic signal heads, and all traffic signal components must be procured within five (5) days of City Staff providing a Notice to Proceed for Construction Materials.
It shall be mandatory that all electrical coordination through Southern California Edison is achieved prior to construction by the contractor, including pull boxes, meters, and all other connections required for the traffic signal installation.
It shall be mandatory that all traffic signal timing be coordinated by the contractor and Los Angeles County Public Works. All traffic controller timing shall be completed before construction or at the approval of the Public Works Manager.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Duarte (the “City”) is soliciting proposals from qualified companies to perform annual tree trimming, tree maintenance and inspection services. The proposals received will be reviewed and processed pursuant to the procedure specified in Duarte Municipal Code section 2.36.070. The selected company will also be responsible for responding to the City’s tree emergencies. The estimated annual budget for contractual tree maintenance services is $68,000.00.
The City is seeking to award a tree trimming, tree maintenance and inspection contract for an initial term of five (5) years, with five (5) one-year extension periods, at the option of the City. The one-year extension periods shall only have a price increase based upon the Consumer Price Index. The City reserves the right to further negotiate the terms and conditions of the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any proposal for noncompliance with contract requirements and provision, or to not award a contract because of unforeseen circumstances or if it is determined to be in the best interest of the City. This contract will be awarded based on demonstrated ability and performance providing similar services at fair and reasonable cost. This contract may not be awarded to the lowest bidder and is based on the evaluation criteria and selection procedures list in selection process section of the RFP. The work is routine maintenance an includes trimming or pruning, removing and planting of trees, and responding to emergency tree concerns.
