Department Description
The Administrative Services Department is responsible for a number of the City’s administrative functions including finance, personnel, data processing, transit, and contract administration.
The Department's financial activities consist of budget preparation, accounting, investments, cashiering, purchasing and auditing.
Its personnel activities entail recruiting, training, evaluation, discipline, employee benefits, and payroll processing.
In the data processing area, it oversees the City’s various computer applications and provides technical support as needed. The Department also manages the operation of the City’s transit system and bus pass subsidy program.
Finally, the Department is responsible for a number of City contracts including a trash franchise agreement, cable franchise agreement, and lease agreements for the Duarte Montessori School, Chamber of Commerce, and various parcels of land.
